Sun Peaks open for the Summer!

Sun Peaks, BC (June 21, 2016) - This Friday, June 24, Sun Peaks Resort will officially kick off its summer season with the opening of lift-accessed activities.

As the lift begins to turn, so do the wheels of eager mountain bikers looking to get in their first bike park laps of the year. And this summer, mountain bikers will have the opportunity to ride more lift-accessed terrain than ever before, as Sun Peaks Resort has extended their lift operations until 7:00 pm, seven days a week. Aidan Kelly, Director of Sales and Marketing, Sun Peaks Resort, expressed his excitement, “The village is absolutely buzzing with anticipation for opening day. The announcement of extended lift hours has created a tremendous pre-season vibe. We have made significant additions and improvements to the Bike Park for this season, and we are thrilled to unveil some of these developments to our guests this weekend” Recently rated the third best Bike Park in Western Canada by mtbparks.com, Sun Peaks' Bike Park boasts a variety upgrades this season. New for this summer, riders will get to experience two additions to the Bike Park, as "Sticky One" and "Resurrection" have been added to the roster. Significant improvements we also made to "Route 66", to increase flow and make the trail more approachable for a wider range of riders. This weekend also marks opening day for access to the extensive alpine hiking trail network at Sun Peaks, and the resort is poised to kick the season off on the right foot with the 'Lift & a Lager' event. Taking place on Saturday from 12pm - 6pm, the purchase of a hiking or Bike Park lift ticket includes a complimentary beer* at the scenic Sunburst mid-mountain patio. There event will feature a BBQ and a DJ spinning music all afternoon.
