About the Course
Level up with our advanced youth mountain bike program, previously Black Diamond Rippers! Your young bikers will continue to refine their fundamental skills while exploring more advanced riding techniques, allowing them to confidently conquer black trails. Safety remains a priority as they build riding habits, make friends, and enjoy the thrill of the trails.
Under the guidance of our certified PMBIA level 2 & 3 coaches, they'll master the art of navigating technical terrain with speed and finesse, spotting the best lines, and conquering challenging features like steep roll downs and raised ladder bridges. With improved brake control, they'll tackle even the most demanding terrain with ease.
Moreover, they'll learn impressive techniques, including rear-wheel lifts, bunny hops, track stands, small jumps, and drops, all performed with precision and skill.
Is this level right for your rider? If they're already strong on all blue technical trails, confidently maintaining momentum through rock and rooted sections at a moderate speed, then this program is tailor-made for them.
With over 15 years of experience coaching youth programs, we guarantee that our program will elevate their skills, confidence, and passion for the sport to a whole new level!

Your Instructor
Shannon Martin

Originally from Western Australia, Shannon spent his teenage years on a BMX building jumps through nothing but trial and error (i.e a lot of crashes). After almost 15 years off the bike he finally rented a full suspension mountain bike at Kicking Horse in 2013 and fell back in love with 2 wheels. Living in Banff and Japan made serious mountain biking tough, but the last few years living in Rossland, along with an upgrade to a modern bike, have him craving for more speed and bigger air. Shannon is a professional photographer and videographer and also works Ski Patrol at RED in the winter. In the summer when not working you can probably find him digging at the Rossland dirtjumps (just like when he was a kid).
